Job Description: Paralegal
Role Objective:
The Paralegal’s mission is to support their Attorney by timely and effectively moving the policyholder’s claim forward – whether pre-litigation or in litigation – while providing exemplary client service. The Paralegal does this by consistent review and execution of their individual task list and by managing and supporting the Attorney to complete his or her tasks in the case handling task list.
The Paralegal will draft legal documents, organize and maintain files, and assist in preparing for conferences, mediation, hearings, and trials. The Paralegal will also interact with clients, witnesses, and other professionals within the legal field. The Paralegal plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Attorney’s docket, which contributes to the overall success of the organization.

Most of our clients have been through a devastating, life-altering event such as a fire, hurricane, or some other disaster. They are often extremely tense about recovering from this loss. We are hired because the insurance company treated them poorly, is nonresponsive, and overall did a poor job on their claim. Ultimately, our clients hire us to make them whole. As a result, it is crucial that the Paralegal execute their tasks efficiently and hold the Attorney accountable in order to move the case toward resolution as quickly as possible.
Job Responsibilities:
● Meet all critical deadlines, specifically all court-related and firm-related deadlines
● Follow case handling task list to ensure effective foundation for each matter.
● Communicate with clients consistently regarding document requests and claim updates including following up with the client monthly to request additional documentation.
● Draft legal documents such as lawsuits, motions, pleadings, letters of representation, demand letters, discovery and initial disclosures with oversight of Supervising Attorney
● Interview clients and witnesses to gather information for cases.
● Assist attorneys with mediation and trial preparations including organizing exhibits
● Ensure clients documents are uploaded in firms’ software.
● Handle state and federal court filings
● Prepare and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized and easily accessible
● Schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions for attorneys
● Draft correspondence and other written communication on behalf of attorneys
● Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed
● Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to cases
