Role Description The Controls Tech and Controls Service Tech role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Mobile, AL, and Dothan with some work-from-home flexibility where tasks permit. In this role, the team member installs, tests, and services HVAC control systems and related instrumentation, including field wiring, control devices, and panels. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing troubleshooting on control systems, executing preventive maintenance, calibrating instruments and sensors, and verifying proper operation of HVAC and building automation controls. The role involves responding to service calls, diagnosing issues, implementing repairs or adjustments, and documenting work performed in accordance with company and client standards. Collaboration with designers, programmers, and project managers is expected to ensure high-quality installations, customer satisfaction, and reliable system performance.
Qualifications

• N4 certification and experience in tritium/Niagara with at least two years' experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC controls, building automation systems, and related electrical and electronic components.
• Experience with preventive maintenance activities, including inspection, testing, and servicing of control systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control devices, including sensors, actuators, and field instruments used in HVAC applications.
• Solid understanding of electricity fundamentals, safe work practices, and reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to perform accurate calibration of control instruments, sensors, and devices to meet design and performance specifications.
• Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC controls, electrical technology, or industrial automation; associate degree or trade school preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools and software for documentation, service reporting, and interfacing with control system software.
• Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively with project teams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the regional trade area as needed.
