Service Technician – Commercial DDC Controls
Walters Controls is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to support and expand our growing commercial DDC service operations. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in building automation systems who wants to build a long-term career in service while being part of a division that is actively being built and expanded. You will have the opportunity to grow with the company and play a role in shaping how our service department operates.
Key Responsibilities- Perform service, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial DDC control systems
- Diagnose system issues including controllers, sensors, networks, and field devices
- Execute system startups, commissioning support, and point-to-point verification
- Perform preventative maintenance and system optimization
- Communicate with customers to explain issues and solutions clearly
- Document service activities, deficiencies, and recommendations
- Assist in identifying service opportunities and upgrades
- Work closely with engineering and project teams when needed
Qualifications- Experience with commercial DDC systems (Niagara, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences of operation
- Ability to troubleshoot controls, wiring, and communication networks (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
