Construction Assistant Superintendent

We are searching for an Assistant Superintendent with an interest in working on a variety of projects, being exposed to multiple structural systems, and exposure to a broad spectrum of management styles.  This position will provide development for the individual including executing construction projects of the highest value and quality on schedule and within budget.  Work in unity with the rest of the project team to ensure that work is done safely, quality standards are upheld, and production is maximized in a manner that aligns with the company’s values. 

Responsibilities include:

• Safety– Be a leader in safety.  Supervise project in all safety matters.
• Production and Quality – Ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively to maximize production and quality.
• Schedule – Review the schedule and effectively manage the schedule to meet established milestones and completion dates.
• Budget – Effectively manage the cost of work to ensure costs do not exceed budget.
• Communication & Management – Facilitate communication with project managers and superintendents to inform on all relevant issues.  Maintain a positive relationship with architect, owner, owner’s representative, subcontractors and crews. 
• Documentation Control - 
  • Maintaining and/or initializing Requests for Information (RFI’s) and Changes in Contract (CIC’s).
  • Organizing and maintaining product submittals.
  • Reviewing project plans/drawings.
  • Organizing and tracking as-built drawings.
  • Completing material take-offs.
  • Processing and tracking subcontractor change orders.
  • Developing, organizing, and maintaining project closeout documents.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma (or equivalent).  Some higher education in Construction Management procedures preferred.  
• Previous experience in a leadership role in the construction industry needed, preferably multifamily ground up construction.   
• Ability to read, speak and understand English.
• Good communication skills.
• Capacity to work in a team environment.
• Ability to read plans.
• Use discretion as needed with confidential/sensitive information.
• Physical ability to use telephone, operate computer and keyboard, walk for continuous periods of time on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders and carry/lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Adequate knowledge of Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and AutoCAD
