What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Specialist (Career Growth Path) position at Wall Street Alliance Group?
Job Title: Operations Specialist (Career Growth Path)
Location: New York, NY (In-Office)
Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000 Base Salary Performance Bonus
The Opportunity
Join a premier, high-growth wealth management firm managing over $1.2 Billion in AUM. We specialize in comprehensive financial planning for physicians and are one of the fastest-growing branches within the Osaic network. As we scale at over 30% per year, we are looking for a foundational operations professional who wants to build a long-term career with us.
Long-Term Career Path
We are seeking a candidate who truly enjoys the operations side of wealth management and intends to stay and grow in this field for several years. This is not a "stepping stone" to becoming an advisor; it is a path to operational leadership (Operations Manager, Lead Operations or Chief Compliance Officer).
Core Responsibilities
- Independent Execution: You are a self-starter who does not need to be micromanaged. You own your desk, manage your own schedule, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Account Setup Excellence: Take full ownership of the end-to-end opening process for Individual, Joint, 529, and Entity accounts. You ensure every document is submitted correctly the first time, proactively catching errors to guarantee a smooth experience.
- FA Partnership & Feedback: Act as a true partner to our Financial Advisors. This includes understanding their priorities, managing expectations, and providing regular feedback on task status.
- Critical Deadline Support: Lead the charge during peak periods (Tax Season and Year-End) on last-minute account openings, funding, and contribution/distribution requests.
- Money Movement & Funding: Execute ACAT/non-ACAT transfers, wires, and check distributions. Proactively assist advisors with the formal funding of Revocable Trusts.
- Retirement & Tax Support: Oversee RMDs, QCDs, Rollovers, and DAFs. You must be able to spot and fix errors—such as IRA over-contributions—before they cause tax issues.
Technical Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years specifically supporting Financial Advisors in an operations role.
- Mandatory Skills: You must have extensive, hands-on experience opening new accounts and managing the full Rollover processing lifecycle.
- Platform Mastery: Understanding of the broader Broker-Dealer/RIA landscape (e.g., Schwab, NFS) and how to resolve NIGO issues independently is a major plus.
- The "Error Anticipator": You look three steps ahead to prevent mistakes before they happen.
Benefits & Perks
- Retirement: 401(k) plan with firm contribution/match.
- Health: Comprehensive Health, Dental and Vision insurance.
- Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) package.
- Bonus: Annual performance-based incentives tied to accuracy and firm growth.
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
