Sr. Trading Analyst
Walker Elliott team is working with upstream oil and gas company in Houston looking to hire Sr. Trading Analyst. This front-office role supports a physical natural gas trading and marketing desk through valuation, market analysis, and risk reporting. The position is highly analytical and closely aligned with daily commercial and trading activity. It's well-suited for an analytical, Excel-driven professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain reporting on natural gas market fundamentals, pricing, and flow data
- Evaluate physical and financial transactions, including transportation and storage opportunities
- Own forward curve updates, pricing models, and valuation assumptions
- Analyze and reconcile daily desk P&L and position exposure
- Review commercial contracts and support risk and deal tracking
- Maintain and update the ETRM/risk management system (Endur)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience in an analytical role within physical energy or commodities markets
- Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modeling capability
- Experience working with large datasets; Python, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools a plus
- Working knowledge of U.S. physical natural gas markets
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, commercial trading environment
