- Please note that Library Assistants hired into these positions must have a strong interest and willingness to learn children's programming
- Part-time Library Assistants generally work a combination of morning, afternoon, and evening hours with a regular Saturday and Sunday rotation (may vary by location)
- The person selected for this position must undergo a successful criminal background check and education verification, as well as submit fingerprints to the State Bureau of Investigation for a secondary criminal history record check.

- Experience working directly with children, for some locations

- Is detail-oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and adapts well to change
- Has great technology skills (ex. Internet searching, MS Office (Word, Excel), and learns new technologies quickly
