Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Essential Functions
- Provides leadership when assigned to projects or to guide team activities.
- Ability to work independently or with a team to complete maintenance or repairs to county vehicles or equipment.
- Completes OEM warranty repairs and safety recalls on vehicles within manufacturer guidelines.
- Ability to provide required documentation and data management of daily activities.
- Performs complex automotive repairs including engines, transmissions, HVAC, steering, electrical, body and chassis, exhaust, and onboard diagnostics.

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in automotive repair
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
- 3 years of senior automotive experience, including advanced diagnostic skills.
- Completion of formal automotive education or training.
- ASE certifications.
- Current North Carolina State Inspector and Emissions License.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Ability to provide and utilize personally owned tools required to perform job duties.
- Proven background in complex automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Demonstrate continued interest in training, education, and development of your skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to use computers and software applications to record time and material expenses.
- Ability to firmly adhere to codes of conduct and ethical principles.
- Provide leadership and the ability to use good judgment to carry out detailed instructions from a supervisor.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
