Associate Attorney

Position Overview: Wahlberg, Woodruff, Grosgebauer, & Sloane, LLP / Denver Trial Lawyers, one of the most prominent medical malpractice and personal injury law firms in the West, is looking for a talented trial lawyer to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of civil defense or plaintiff-side litigation experience. Trial experience or law school mock trial team experience is strongly preferred. We also welcome applicants from judicial clerks, prosecutors, and public defenders interested in bringing their courtroom litigation experience to a civil trial practice. A fascination for complex medicine and changing the law is essential.

Compensation: $100,000-150,000 commensurate with experience - plus benefits.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage medical malpractice and/or personal injury cases through all phases of litigation, from case development through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and assist with trial preparation and trial.
• Collaborate with medical experts, co-counsel, and the legal team to develop case strategy.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide consistent case updates.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Colorado Bar membership in good standing.
• 3-4 years of defense or plaintiff-side medical malpractice or personal injury litigation experience
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent client communication, organization, and case management abilities.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a genuine commitment to advocating for injured clients.
• Strong interest in complex  medical issues and a desire to advance the law.
