Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical systems including low voltage and high-voltage wiring on construction sites and renovation projects.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and local electrical codes.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring, conduit bending, circuit testing, and system upgrades.
- Ensure all work adheres to electrical safety procedures, including proper grounding, circuit protection, and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople such as frame carpenters or electricians to coordinate installation efforts during construction or renovation projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections completed, and safety compliance documentation.
Experience
- Proven industrial electrician experience working with complex electrical systems in industrial or commercial environments.
- Extensive commercial electrician experience with a strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Hands-on experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for various projects.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance requirements for high-voltage wiring installations.
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs while maintaining safety standards.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and industrial electrical controls is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform renovation work involving existing electrical infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
