Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. The role involves preparing tax returns, assisting with audit and review engagements, and preparing financial statements for individuals and closely held businesses. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns using firm-approved tax software
- Assist with audit and review engagements, including gathering documentation and performing analytical procedures
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information and clarify discrepancies
- Support senior staff and managers with accounting and tax projects as needed
- Participate in local travel for client meetings and engagement support when required
- Ensure all work meets firm quality standards and deadlines
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- CPA license in good standing, or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred, ideally in public accounting
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Ability to perform common audit and review procedures
- Excellent time management, organizational, communication, critical thinking, and adaptability skills
