About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Inspector with hands-on experience in New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC) projects specifically focused on Water Main, Sewer, and Highway infrastructure. This position will support ongoing NYC DDC projects across the boroughs and requires deep technical knowledge and inspection expertise in these specific civil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of water main, sewer, and highway construction activities.
- Ensure all work complies with contract documents, NYC DDC specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor contractor performance to maintain quality standards and adherence to project schedules.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, including photos and field notes.
- Coordinate closely with Resident Engineers, City officials, contractors, and the public as needed.
- Identify and report any deficiencies or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Minimum 3-5 years of inspection experience on NYC DDC Water Main, Sewer, and Highway projects.
- Strong familiarity with NYC DDC specifications, standards, and procedures related to water, sewer, and highway infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical documents relevant to civil infrastructure.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Proven track record working effectively with city agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- NICET Level II Certification (Transportation/Highway Construction or equivalent) or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Prior experience managing multiple NYC DDC infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Monday to Friday, day shifts
- Occasional weekends as needed
