Design and prepare electrical construction documents and specifications for new construction and renovation projects. Lead electrical projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local codes. Collaborate with architectural and mechanical teams to deliver high-quality designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design power, lighting, and signal systems for commercial, educational, industrial, and governmental buildings
- Lead electrical projects and client meetings; provide solutions and cost estimates
- Perform calculations for lighting, power equipment, conductor sizing, fault calculations, and coordination of electrical devices
- Utilize software such as EasyPower and REVIT for design and energy analysis (State and ASHRAE standards)
- Apply LEED principles, including daylight harvesting and alternative energy sources
- Design low-voltage systems (data networks, telephone, CCTV, security, fire alarm) - Division 27/28 experience required
- Prepare code-compliant construction drawings for signing and sealing in accordance with Florida Laws
- Conduct field investigations and participate in punchout of completed projects
- Mentor and lead team members while maintaining strong client relationships
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited); MSEE preferred
- Florida PE License REQUIRED
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- RCDD certification a plus
- LEED AP or BD&C certification a plus
- Proven leadership and project management abilities
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
- Demonstrated computer modeling experience in REVIT
- Knowledge of EasyPower or related power design software
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- FDLE Level II screening, E-Verify compliance, legal work authorization
