We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role is well suited for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and experience leading day-to-day accounting operations in a multi-entity environment.

This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and helping ensure compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support junior accounting team members to help ensure departmental goals are met.
- Oversee payroll and accounts payable activities for accuracy and compliance.
- Review and monitor accounting transactions across multiple entities.
- Prepare and analyze asset, liability, and capital account activity.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in coordination with internal teams.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation efforts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and help maintain accurate cash flow reporting.
- Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Review transactions and supporting documents for audit readiness and internal controls.
- Research accounting policies and procedures to respond to questions and provide guidance.
- Prepare and review balance sheet and profit-and-loss information, including variance analysis.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen accounting systems and workflows.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients.
- Several years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience in public school accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and its practical application.
- Experience with multi-entity financial operations.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort with reporting tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior staff is highly valued.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
