What You'll Do
As a Seasonal Reviewer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring tax returns are complete, compliant, and optimized. Your day-to-day will include:
- Reviewing individual and business tax returns for accuracy and completeness
- Verifying data input and identifying any inconsistencies or missing information
- Collaborating with preparers to resolve discrepancies and clarify issues
- Communicating with clients as needed to gather additional information or clarify details
- Staying updated on tax laws and regulations applicable to returns being reviewed
- Train/Mentor less experienced preparers to support quality improvements
We're looking for someone who is:
- Detail-Oriented: You catch what others miss. Accuracy is second nature.
- Professional with Integrity: You handle confidential information with care and honesty.
- Knowledgeable: Prior experience with individual and/or small business tax return preparation and review
- Client-Focused: Excellent communication skills and the ability to make clients feel heard and respected
- Collaborative: You work well with others, provide constructive feedback, and value team success
- Dependable: You show up on time, meet deadlines, and own your responsibilities
- 2 years of tax review experience. or 5 years of tax preparation experience
- Experience with LACERTE tax software
- PTIN required
- CPA or EA designation a plus, but not required
- Seasonal position, typically January through mid-April
- Flexible hours available; weekend and evening availability a plus
