Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead and direct project teams through effective communication, coordination, and follow-up to achieve defined project goals.
- Ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are clearly defined, understood, and maintained.
- Develop and enforce project procedures aligned with contractual requirements.
- Establish and oversee project controls, schedules, and budgets.
- Collaborate with management and estimating teams to develop site logistics and phasing plans.
- Ensure general conditions and trade budgets reflect appropriate construction timelines and methodologies.
- Track project milestones and manage cost control to maintain budget compliance.
- Negotiate and prepare subcontractor scopes of work and subcontracts to prevent scope gaps.
- Partner with Superintendents and the Safety Manager to develop and enforce the Project-Specific Safety Plan.
- Ensure compliance with owner contract terms and applicable legal codes and construction standards.
- Maintain adherence to industry best practices and quality standards.
- Ensure timely processing of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement logs, and look-ahead schedules.
- Facilitate on-time or early delivery of project components and trades in the planned sequence.
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Represent the project in meetings, reviews, and formal correspondence.
- Provide mentoring and training to entry- and mid-level engineers to support professional development.
- Act as the key communication link between executive leadership, stakeholders, and field teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Strong expertise in scheduling, procurement, budget control, financial reporting, and client relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook; Access preferred).
- Experience with estimating, scheduling, and project management software is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities.
