The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of construction projects-from contract award through completion, punch list, and warranty. This includes planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor/vendor coordination, safety, quality control, client communication, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Full oversight of construction projects (budget, schedule, quality, safety)
- Manage superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
- Act as primary client liaison and resolve issues proactively
- Develop and maintain construction schedules and cost controls
- Approve subcontractor draws, invoices, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with contracts, company policies, and government regulations
- Maintain job documentation, reporting, and cost tracking
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and change orders
- Ensure job site safety and risk management
- Support hiring, evaluation, and performance management of field staff
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Reports to: Director of Construction
- Direct reports: Superintendents (as assigned)
Education
- Required: Associate degree in Construction Management or related field
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management
- Required: 5 years as a Project Manager with projects valued $5M-$10M
- Preferred: 10 years, fast-track construction experience
- Strong leadership and people management
- Excellent planning, organization, and multitasking
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Solid financial, budgeting, and cost-control skills
- Strong computer proficiency (project reporting, documentation)
- Deep understanding of subcontractor/vendor coordination
- Sound judgment, integrity, and decision-making under pressure
- Office-based with frequent job site visits
- All-weather site visits required
