Scope of Responsibilities
- Organize and prioritize manufacturing activities (workflow, materials, machines, and manpower) to prevent delays and meet customer demands with a focus on turnaround time, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Production and/or CSR Manager to develop the daily production plan by reviewing customer demand, estimating manpower requirements, and evaluating inventory levels.
- Review workloads to identify inefficiencies, process gaps, and opportunities to maximize throughput.
Duties
The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the plant operates efficiently and profitably while servicing customer needs. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained.
- Conduct production and team meetings.
- Manage the daily production schedule, including adding new jobs, removing completed/shipped orders, and scheduling press run orders.
- Participate in root cause analysis of internal and external complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Manage all manufacturing processes, including:
- Quality inspection processes
- Prepress processes
- Job preparation processes
- Tooling management
- Oversee daily functions of all production personnel to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Maintain effective communication flow to production staff.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Implement and monitor Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Manage, plan, and monitor inventory movement throughout the production cycle.
- Serve as coach, mentor, and leader to achieve team, department, and company objectives.
- Ensure products meet all quality standards and customer specifications.
- Track, review, and approve payroll for production personnel; manage overtime; review and approve vacation requests.
- Assess training needs and oversee employee orientation and ongoing training related to production policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance reviews and administer disciplinary actions as needed.
- Implement and ensure compliance with all production-related company documents (SOPs, guidelines, process descriptions, forms, and checklists).
- Ensure adequate tools, fixtures, programs, procedures, and processes are developed and implemented across production operations.
- Initiate purchase orders for production supplies and resources.
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- 3-5 years of experience in a Production Management role
- 4-7 years of experience in the Flexographic Printing industry
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
