Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot machining processes for cast iron and steel components
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including routings, work instructions, and control plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and design engineering
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes to improve cycle time, quality, and cost
- Evaluate and recommend tools, fixtures, and equipment for machining operations
- Lead or support capital equipment projects related to machining
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues
- Mentor and support junior engineers or technicians as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of hands-on experience in a machining / Process engineering role
- Must have direct involvement in process development and troubleshooting (not just management oversight)
- Proven experience working with cast iron and steel machining
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, fixturing, and CNC processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to commit to a long-term career (10-15 years) with the organization
- Experience in mid- to high-volume production environments
- Exposure to machining simulation, CNC programming, or advanced cutting techniques
- Prior leadership or project management experience in a manufacturing setting
