Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing the estimating department to ensure all bidding activities align with organizational goals. This role includes training and supervising estimators, maintaining bid logs and scheduling processes, and developing strong industry relationships to support new business opportunities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Train new estimators on estimating processes, software, and best practices
- Provide support and guidance to estimators and resolve job-related questions
- Contact new general contractors to be added to bid lists
- Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors to support new business opportunities
- Ensure the company is properly prequalified with target general contractors
- Monitor incoming bid invitations and ensure scheduling and calendar tracking is up to date
- Perform quality control for bid logs to verify all bids are recorded accurately
- Ensure estimators follow up with general contractors on a weekly basis
- Complete weekly estimating scorecards and track performance metrics
- Ensure the department is meeting weekly, quarterly, and annual bidding and performance targets
- Maintain and update the bidder list to track bid volume and award performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately

- Proficiency in estimating and construction-related software, including tools such as Glazier Studio, BlueBeam, ESUB, and Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
