About The Role
In this position, you'll manage a portfolio of personal injury litigation cases from inception through resolution, including matters involving medical malpractice, auto accidents, and premises liability. You'll also oversee a team of paralegals and/or case managers, ensuring excellence in client service, case management, and compliance.

- Manage a diverse caseload of personal injury litigation matters to resolution.
- Review legal and medical data to assess liability, coverage, and damages.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives.
- Ensure timely updates and a positive client experience throughout each case.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in mediations, depositions, court hearings, and trials.
- Prepare witnesses, experts, and clients for testimony.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients' best interests.
- Supervise, mentor, and support paralegals and case managers.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members.
- Build professional relationships in the community to support firm visibility and outreach.
- Conduct research and analysis on personal injury laws, precedents, and procedural updates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in litigation and personal injury practice areas.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- 5-7 years of litigation experience, including at least 3 years in personal injury law.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring legal staff.
- Proven success representing clients in court and managing all phases of litigation.
- Strong legal research, writing, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency with Client Management Systems (CMS) and related legal technology tools.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
