Patent Agent / Technical Advisor - Patent Prosecution & Litigation (Electrical Engineering & Software)

A highly respected national law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Technical Advisor to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group on the Software & Electrical Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional who enjoys working on sophisticated patent matters involving cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
• Work closely with attorneys, inventors, and clients to develop strong patent portfolios.
• Conduct patent analysis and provide technical support for patent prosecution and litigation matters.
• Draft responses to USPTO Office Actions and assist with strategic patent counseling.
• Support intellectual property matters involving advanced software and electrical engineering technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality legal and technical work.
  
  

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred for Patent Agent candidates.
• Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desired:
• 5G and 6G wireless communications
• 3GPP standards
• Memory devices
• Semiconductor technologies
• Candidates with relevant technical training or industry experience in these areas are also encouraged to apply.
