- Supervise and guide operations staff, including leads, technicians, and trainees
- Set performance expectations, provide coaching, and support ongoing training
- Manage staffing schedules to maintain uninterrupted plant operations
- Act as backup to senior leadership and step in during emergencies
- Oversee daily plant performance, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor systems (including SCADA) to optimize process efficiency
- Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with maintenance and other teams during repairs or upgrades
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure proper PPE usage
- Report and address safety incidents promptly
- Ensure full compliance with environmental permits and reporting requirements
- Review operational logs and regulatory documentation for accuracy
- Assist in prioritizing and reviewing maintenance work requests
- Interpret technical drawings and support team understanding
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on asset management initiatives
- 5 years of experience in advanced wastewater treatment operations
- 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of treatment processes, process control, and compliance standards
- Familiarity with SCADA and plant monitoring systems
- Understanding of industrial safety standards (OSHA or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Relevant degree or equivalent hands-on experience
- Virginia Wastewater Works Operator Class 1 License required or ability to attain within one (1) year of hire date.

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
