π What You'll Be Responsible For
βοΈ Mechanical Design for Power Distribution:
- Design mechanical components for:
- Switchgear
- Switchboards
- Panelboards
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Custom enclosures
- Integrate mechanical systems into electrical control platforms for automation projects
- Perform thermal modeling and heat transfer calculations
- Design cooling and ventilation solutions for electrical equipment
- Specify materials and structural supports based on environmental and load requirements
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software
- Create accurate power system layout drawings
- Ensure constructability and code compliance
- Design in accordance with:
- UL1558
- UL891
- UL67
- UL845
- UL508A
- Apply CSA and UL standards to low-voltage and medium-voltage equipment
- Partner with electrical engineers on load analysis and integration
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers
- Conduct site surveys for installation feasibility
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 2 years designing mechanical systems for power distribution
- Experience with medium voltage systems (5kV-38kV) OR demonstrated design experience under UL891 / UL1558 / UL67 standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar modeling software
- Strong understanding of UL and CSA compliance requirements
- Analytical, detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Exposure to mission-critical data center infrastructure
- Work at the intersection of mechanical and electrical power systems
