MACHINE SET-UP TECHNICIAN
The company and its' Partner companies have been manufacturing and distributing high precision mechanical components and assemblies used in Aerospace, Connector, Medical (serving 125 customers) for 38 years.
Summary Of Position
Set-up and operation of all machining functions, to include bar feeder (DECO 2000, Nakamura, STAR ST38 and SR20).
Requires 2 years minimum of set-up experience on multi axis CNC lathes.
Machine quality high precision components.
Responsibilities
Print Reading Inspect, interpret and apply customer drawings.
Understand and interpret customer drawings.
Apply to program, set-up and inspection.
Have a working knowledge of different symbols and indicators of measurement on quality standards.
Geometric tolerancing knowledge.
Inspection Inspect parts to ensure accuracy of parts to customer drawing.
Provide 1st piece inspection.
Provide in-process inspection on a daily basis.
Machine Operation Offset, program edit, general maintenance and tool changes.
Adjust and fine tune running machines; when necessary.
Provide maintenance (filling oil tank, way lube, etc)
Replace broken or worn tools, drills, etc.
Set-up Bar feed, machine, collet and bushing, gang and power tools, front drilling, C-spindle and ejector pin, back tools.
Understand and set-up bar feeder.
Set-up all aspects of CNC machine accurately and efficiently.
Program Level III Edit as necessary to ensure operation.
Understand G-function and M codes.
Edit programs.
Interpreting program and tool movement.
Tool Making (preferred; not required) Make accurate and functional tools, drills, etc. for CNC machines. Be able to modify tools.
Fully understand tool geometries.
Production Maintain optimum machine utilization and produce quality work.
Produce quality components.
Set-up and maintain machines to run established production hours.
Other Assist in any additional responsibility as defined by the Manufacturing
Engineer/Production Manager to ensure quality manufacturing of all machines.
