Duties
- Assist clients in understanding mortgage options, including FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and loan programs, to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Originate mortgage loans by gathering financial information, conducting credit analysis, and performing initial loan processing steps.
- Conduct thorough negotiations with clients to secure favorable terms while adhering to Fair Housing regulations and TILA (Truth in Lending Act) requirements.
- Collaborate with underwriters, escrow officers, and mortgage servicing teams to ensure smooth loan approval and closing processes.
- Utilize mortgage software such as Quicken or other financial software to input data accurately and manage loan pipelines efficiently.
- Perform basic math calculations and credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk levels.
- Maintain compliance with all banking, mortgage servicing, and financial services regulations, including contracts and escrow procedures.
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or Mortgage Loan Originator within the financial services or banking industry.
- Strong background in financial sales, negotiation, and customer service with a focus on loan origination processes.
- Familiarity with FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage servicing operations.
- Proficiency in mortgage-specific software such as Quicken or comparable financial software; experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Knowledge of TILA regulations, Fair Housing laws, and basic math skills necessary for credit analysis and contract review.
- Demonstrated ability to handle loan processing tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
