Hardware / PCB Design Engineer (Mid & Senior Levels)

Location: Linthicum Heights, MD (Onsite)

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph (Required)

Overview

Seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented engineer to design and debug advanced cryptographic hardware systems. This role involves full ownership of the hardware design lifecycle, from initial architecture through high-layer PCB layout and final lab integration.

Core Qualifications

• EDA Expertise: Proficiency in Cadence Allegro and OrCAD
• High-Speed Design: Experience with LVDS and high-speed signaling (up to 10 Gbps)
• Design Complexity: Strong knowledge of 16 layer HDI designs and IPC Class 3 standards
• Full Lifecycle Ownership: Experience with component selection, schematic capture, vendor coordination, and system integration/testing
• Documentation: Ability to create detailed and accurate technical design documentation
  
  

Highly Desirable Experience

• Experience with NSA Type 1 cryptographic systems and certification processes
• Knowledge of secure design principles, including TEMPEST and RED/BLACK separation
• Familiarity with FPGA development (Xilinx Vivado), Python scripting, or Git-based workflows
  
  

Mid-Level

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering 7 years of relevant experience OR
• 12 years of relevant experience without a degree
  
  

Senior-Level

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering 12 years of relevant experience OR
• 17 years of relevant experience without a degree
  
  

Additional Requirements

• 7 years of PCB design experience
• 7 years of hardware engineering experience
• Ability to work onsite
