Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Richmond, VA, for a Fire Protection Designer. The Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for designing fire alarm and/or fire protection systems, creating detailed drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with engineers and clients, conducting field assessments, and preparing project documentation and reports.

Qualifications
- Experience in designing fire alarm and/or fire protection systems and creating detailed drawings
- Hydraulic or voltage-drop calculations
- NICET Certification
- Knowledge of local fire protection codes and regulations
- Proficiency in using CAD software and other design tools
- Ability to conduct field assessments and site inspections
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Professional certifications in fire protection design are a plus
- Experience working with federal, military, or industrial clients is advantageous
- Willingness to travel
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
