Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize Bluebeam and Heavy Bid software for precise cost estimation and project tracking.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimates.
- Prepare detailed proposals that outline costs, timelines, and project deliverables.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
- 3-8 years' experience in estimating, budgeting, and cost control using Bluebeam, Heavy Bid, and RS Means.
- Managed 11-80 projects/year, including long-term estimates (2 years) and cost-saving initiatives.
- 3-10 years in project coordination and management, including site inspections, progress tracking, and earthwork calculations. Skilled in proposal writing, document control, and leading mid-level projects.
- Strong in blueprint/spec interpretation, contracts, negotiations, and lean construction.
- Excellent record-keeping, analysis, and team collaboration across all project phases. Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies in the construction industry.
