Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Estate Planning Department: Take leadership of the estate planning practice area, including overseeing client service delivery, refining workflows, and building scalable systems to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Drive Business Growth: Partner closely with the firm's marketing team to develop and execute strategies that generate qualified leads, increase consultation bookings, and expand the firm's presence in the estate planning market. This includes presenting at our weekly in-office Estate Planning seminars.
- Conduct Strategic Consultations: Handle initial strategy sessions with prospective clients to identify goals, educate on legal options, and recommend tailored estate planning solutions that build long-term client trust.
- Manage the Full Client Lifecycle: Oversee the entire client journey-from initial intake and document drafting to signing ceremonies and post-signing follow-up-ensuring a white-glove experience at every step.
- Draft and Review Customized Legal Documents: Prepare comprehensive estate planning instruments, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and asset protection trusts, ensuring alignment with each client's unique needs and values.
- Foster Client Relationships: Build and maintain deep relationships with clients through proactive communication, responsiveness, and ongoing legal support.
- Collaborate Firm-Wide: Work cross-functionally with attorneys, paralegals, marketing, and administrative staff to ensure seamless delivery of services and firm-wide alignment on estate planning goals.
- Ensure Legal Excellence: Stay current on evolving estate, tax, and elder law developments to deliver cutting-edge legal strategies and maintain the firm's reputation for thought leadership.
- Mentor and Build the Team: As the department grows, participate in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring junior attorneys and support staff to maintain high standards of service and execution.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in New Jersey; admission to New York and/or Pennsylvania is a plus
- At least 2 years of experience focused on estate planning
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- A compassionate, client-first approach and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- A team player with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset
