Our client is currently looking to fill a Commercial Construction HVAC Technician position. This role focuses on the large-scale installation and commissioning of complex climate control systems for new buildings and major renovations.

- System Layout & Installation: Install heavy equipment (e.g., air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, boilers, large split systems) by interpreting complex mechanical blueprints and architectural plans.
- Ductwork Fabrication: Install and, at times, fabricate expansive flex and sheet metal duct systems for commercial air distribution.
- Piping & Wiring: Run copper refrigerant lines, perform precision brazing/soldering, and install low-voltage and line-voltage wiring for system controls.
- Commissioning: Test and balance newly installed systems to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and building codes.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to align work with the construction schedule.
- Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.
- Advanced Control Systems: Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC).
- Rigging Knowledge: Ability to safely maneuver and secure large units, often using cranes or hoists.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to OSHA standards (OSHA 10 or 30 certification often required).
- Experience: 3-5 years of specific commercial mechanical construction experience.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and work at heights from ladders or aerial lifts in extreme weather conditions.
