CNC Mill / Lathe Machinist - Toolmaker
Location: New Haven, IN
Shift: First Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill / Lathe Machinist - Toolmaker to set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to produce high-quality components. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to machine weldments, plates, and miscellaneous parts
Perform safe handling and positioning of materials during machining processes
Program at the machine using G-code and/or conversational programming
Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and technical drawings with strong knowledge of GD&T
Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
Operate additional toolroom equipment as needed
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for various materials and jobs
Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of CNC mill and/or lathe machining experience
Strong programming skills at the machine (G-code and/or conversational)
Experience with Mastercam is a plus
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation
Solid understanding of GD&T
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
