Position Summary

CNC Machinists are essential to producing large, complex components with precision and efficiency. In this role, you will set up, operate, and adjust CNC machining centers to create high-quality plastic and aluminum parts. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure parts meet tight specifications and quality standards.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Select, install, and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
  • Adjust machine settings and offsets to optimize machining processes and maintain part quality.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Interpret complex drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring (Core Competencies)

  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining operations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools for verifying dimensions.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and solve machining problems.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). REQUIRED
  • 2 years of experience operating CNC machining centers.
  • Ability to set up, operate, and make minor program edits.
  • Familiarity with machining plastics and aluminum materials.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNC machining certificate program or formal apprenticeship.
  • 5 years of CNC horizontal machining experience, preferably in a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with large, complex part machining.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and processes.
  • Familiarity with advanced machining strategies and tooling optimization.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods (8 hours).
  • Regularly lift and maneuver parts/materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity to handle small components and tools.
  • The ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment exposed to moderate noise, temperature changes, and machining oils.

Special Requirements Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee reference check, criminal background check, and drug screening.

Actual hourly rate within the range will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and shift requirements.

1st shift - Monday-Friday should be open to other shifts as well as occasional weekends

40 plus overtime as required

Compensation details: 30-36 Hourly Wage
