This role oversees project schedules, budgets, technical design, regulatory coordination, and stakeholder communication while leading internal teams and coordinating with external consultants. The position ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Duties And Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
- Monitor project progress and adjust resources to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage project scope, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and manage contracts, proposals, and change orders.
- Ensure projects remain within approved budgets and profitability targets.
- Provide technical oversight for civil engineering design, including:
- Site development
- Stormwater management systems
- Water distribution systems
- Sanitary sewer systems
- Roadway and parking design
- Grading and drainage plans
- Review engineering calculations, plans, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal regulations and engineering standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies for permitting and approvals.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders and public agencies.
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors and consultants.
- Provide engineering support during construction.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals.
- Perform site visits and assist with resolving construction issues.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Prepare engineering reports, proposals, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Provide regular project status updates to leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience with land development projects (municipal, commercial, or residential).
- Knowledge of permitting processes and development regulations.
- Experience preparing engineering proposals and managing project budgets.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, Engineering Intern (EI), or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- Modeling software (e.g., stormwater or hydraulic modeling tools)
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles.
- Familiarity with land development codes and permitting processes.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
Salary : $65,000 - $120,000
