Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced BIM Specialist / Drafting Professional to join our Washington, DC office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented BIM professional with a strong background in Revit Structure and structural engineering drafting who thrives in a collaborative, in-office environment.

The BIM Specialist will play a critical role in supporting our structural engineering team by developing high-quality BIM models and construction documents for large-scale commercial and institutional projects. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, an understanding of structural systems, and the ability to work closely with engineers and project teams throughout all phases of design and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage BIM models using Revit Structure for structural engineering projects
• Prepare accurate and detailed construction documents, drawings, and design deliverables
• Collaborate closely with structural engineers to translate engineering concepts into coordinated BIM models
• Support project teams through various project phases, including schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
• Assist with BIM coordination, model updates, and drawing revisions as projects evolve
• Ensure all drawings and models comply with company standards, project requirements, and industry best practices
• Participate in coordination efforts on large-scale, multi-discipline projects
• Maintain organized project files and documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM workflows, standards, and drafting procedures
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Revit Structure / BIM
• Demonstrated experience in structural engineering drafting
• Strong understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and construction documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, in-office team environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a structural engineering firm
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial, institutional, or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with coordination across multiple disciplines (architectural, MEP, etc.)
