Associate Attorney

Plaintiff's personal injury and worker's compensation law firm located in Chicago West Loop and Naperville is seeking to hire an Associate Attorney. Candidate should have at least one year working in personal injury litigation. Candidate will be responsible for handling a diverse portfolio of personal injury cases. The Associate Attorney's responsibilities include meeting with clients, performing intakes, ascertaining client needs, choosing the most appropriate course of action pre-suit, commencing litigation, preparing and filing complaints, answering written discovery, taking depositions and representing clients' interests in court hearings and at trial. During the process, the candidate will be required to collaborate with and report to a supervising attorney in charge of each case.

Associate Attorney Responsibilities

• Consulting with clients to ascertain the details and merits of each case.
• Conducting research of statues and case law.
• Drafting pleadings including complaints, answers to written discovery, motions and appeals.
• Answering written discovery.
• Taking depositions of parties, witnesses, doctors and experts.
• Taking evidence depositions.
• Trial preparation.
• Representing clients at trials.
  
  

Associate Attorney Requirements

• Accredited Law degree.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• One plus year proven experience practicing as a litigation attorney.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Capacity to handle significant case load in a dynamic environment.
