Role Description

Reporting to the Foundry Manager, the Assistant Foundry Manager will gain comprehensive training while leading daily foundry operations. You'll collaborate across teams to streamline processes, supervise metal casting activities, integrate production schedules, and resolve operational issues. This hands-on role emphasizes safety compliance, quality control, and cross-departmental coordination to maintain seamless workflows and meet deadlines. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily foundry operations, including supervising metal casting processes and ensuring production efficiency under Foundry Manager guidance.
• Collaborate with team members and departments to identify process improvements, optimize scheduling, and integrate workflows for maximum output.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges, implement solutions, and maintain adherence to production schedules and timelines.
• Support team management, including training, motivation, and performance oversight for foundry staff.
• Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental protocols across all operations.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to align foundry activities with broader manufacturing goals.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and processes to minimize downtime and enhance overall foundry performance.
• Assist in reporting on key metrics like production yields, efficiency rates, and safety incidents.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in foundry management, supervision, or a similar leadership role in a manufacturing/metalworking environment.
• In-depth knowledge of metal castings, including various methods (e.g., sand casting, die casting) and related foundry processes.
• Strong understanding of process integration, production scheduling, and optimization techniques to drive efficiency.
• Expertise in casting processes, materials handling, and operational best practices.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and team-building skills with a hands-on approach.
• Superior problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure, dynamic settings.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in a physical, hands-on capacity in a foundry environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Engineering, Materials Science, Foundry Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience strongly considered.
• Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., OSHA), quality systems (e.g., ISO), and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
