Our company is a fast-growing construction & service company with multiple locations and is headquartered in Bridgeport.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Shop Procurement & Inventory Supervisor to oversee our purchasing operations and inventory control processes. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, maintaining optimal inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that all materials and products meet quality standards and are delivered on time. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and experienced in inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
Manage sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, parts, and services across multiple locations
Enhance parts tracking system and establish a full inventory system (binned, counted, tracked in Fleetio; searchable by keyword & part number)
Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
Oversee accessories, supplies, and replacement orders
Monitor inventory levels to maintain stock without overstocking
Use inventory management systems to track and forecast needs
Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Prepare and present procurement and inventory reports to leadership
Manage all warranty part returns to vendors
Receive, stock, and manage inventory stock levels; perform weekly inventory tie-outs
Develop and perform a weekly cycle count system
Collaborate with mechanics to create a parts request and fulfillment system
Ensure proper stocking levels and reorder points are accurately maintained
Qualifications
5 years of experience in procurement or inventory management
Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software (e.g., Fleetio)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, APICS, CPIM) a plus
Experience in construction and automotive/truck parts preferred
Familiarity with lean inventory practices and just-in-time (JIT) methodology
