Reports to: Lead A&P TechnicianJOB SUMMARYAssure aircraft maintenance work, materials and practices conform to FAA, customer, company and manufacturers' standards of quality.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.Modify, repair, assemble, fabricate install structural components and aircraft partsWorking knowledge of FAA regulations, their interpretation and application.Performs approved repair operations to structures including sheet metal and other structures.Repairs flight control surfaces, engine cowling, and fuel cell/tank maintenanceOverhauls mechanical assemblies including repairs and part replacements.Documents maintenance/repair per company & FAA requirements on aircraft forms, records and workbooksMust own and be skilled in the use of structures hand tools related to the responsibilities described above.Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.Works with close tolerance dimensions and various types of fasteners using common hand tools, special instruments and pneudraulic tools.AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN II (AST II):Less than 3 years' experience - No A&P LicenseNo experience with A&P LicenseAIRCRAFT STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN III (AST III):4 Years' experience with or without an A&P LicenseExperience on at least 2 types of aircraftExperience on at least 2 types of enginesRequires some direction and leadership trainingOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:-The individual must possess the following strengths:Positive work attitudeExcellent job performance in productivity and qualityCommitment to maintain a culture of safetyDedication of attendancePHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
