Summary:
The Export Compliance Coordinator will support the requirements at the branch level in coordination and oversight of export compliance activity. This job requires monitoring and navigating complex regulations regarding customs clearance, import and export licenses, trade agreements, and embargoes. The main goal is to prevent any violations and maintain compliance with legal and safety requirements. Export compliance provides analysis and interpretation of international trade compliance requirements of the Export Administrations Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), OFAC Sanctions, Antiboycott Regulations.
Position requires you to work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and customers to ensure all documentation and processes are accurate and complete. It is also important to stay up to date on changes in regulations and communicate them to relevant parties.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations relating to importing and exporting goods
Process import/export licenses and permits for the transportation industry
Assess and mitigate risks associated with international trade
Train employees on customs regulations and other compliance matters
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to policies and regulations
Coordinate with other departments within the company to ensure compliance
Monitor and analyze changes in laws and regulations related to international trade
Collaborate with government agencies and external partners to resolve compliance issues
Maintain records and documentation related to import/export activities.
Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Import/Export Regulations knowledge is preferred
Excellent communication skills
Expert knowledge of with import and export regulations in a capacity of trade compliance, international or global trade, custom broker, or similar operations
High level of computer efficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and Google Programs
Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to VYTL driving guidelines
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
Essential Physical Functions
Lifting up to 25 pounds
Bending, stooping, ability to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
