The Raleigh House at The Ranch | Watkins, ColoradoPosition: Behavioral Health Technician
Compensation: $22–$24 per hour $2/hour overnight differential
Posted: June 17, 2026
Work Location: In person

The Raleigh House provides comprehensive treatment for adults experiencing substance use, mental health, trauma, and co-occurring challenges. The Ranch offers a unique residential environment where evidence-based behavioral health treatment is complemented by experiential and holistic approaches. It is a place where clients can step away from the demands of everyday life and focus on building a healthier future.

The Role

As a BHT, you are often one of the team members clients interact with most throughout their time in treatment. You help translate the structure of the treatment program into the everyday client experience. You observe what is happening, model healthy behavior, maintain appropriate boundaries, and communicate important information to the clinical team.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide structure, supervision, and support within the residential milieu
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment throughout your shift
  • Complete routine client checks and monitor client safety and wellbeing
  • Observe client behavior and recognize changes that may require attention or follow-up
  • Communicate relevant observations, concerns, and incidents to clinical staff
  • Model healthy communication, appropriate boundaries, accountability, and respectful behavior
  • Support clients in following daily schedules, routines, expectations, and responsibilities
  • Track client attendance and participation in groups, activities, and scheduled events
  • Support new clients as they transition into the program, including reviewing expectations, schedules, chores, and routines
  • Conduct urine analysis and breathalyzer testing while maintaining proper chain of custody and documentation
  • Facilitate or support assigned check-ins, milieu meetings, mindfulness, meditation, and psychoeducation groups
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Monitor the physical environment and report maintenance, safety, or other concerns
  • Support program needs such as activities, chores, schedules, and transportation as assigned

Why This Role Matters

A BHT may be the person who notices that a client is having a harder day than usual. You may be the person who helps a new client feel welcome on their first night. You may model what respectful communication looks like when a client has never experienced it consistently. You may reinforce a boundary, encourage someone to use a coping skill, or communicate an observation that helps the clinical team better understand what a client needs.

These moments may seem small, but they are not. BHTs help create the environment in which clinical treatment can happen. Your consistency, awareness, and presence contribute directly to client safety, engagement, and experience.
