Open shifts:

Overnight 11pm to 7am Tuesday through Saturday

Split Shift: 1pm to 11pm Saturday and Sunday and Monday/Tuesday 11pm to 7am

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for providing milieu management services to women and dependent children residing in intensive residential treatment at The Aspen Center for Women. Behavioral Health Specialist will provide these women with services that support the overall mental health and well-being of each family member and will ensure that all services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and provided with compassion.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN PRIMARY DUTIES:

· Provide milieu oversight

· Provide individual and group supports and interventions

· Partner with case manager to provide case management support

· Support the clinical team in working with families to adhere to program and facility rules and requirements

· Support families in achieving their individual success plans

· Maintain accurate and appropriate records of all case management interactions

· Submit daily clinical notes for all residents in programming

· Administer medications

· Report any and all critical incidents to appropriate authorities, supervisors and contract managers

· Other duties as assigned

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

· Training in trauma-informed care, harm-reduction, de-escalation techniques, and vicarious trauma

· Excellent communication and computer skills

· Bachelors education in the field of social work, criminal justice, or counseling. A Certified Drug and Alcohol Specialist (CAS/CAT) is preferred

· Ability to facilitate/supervise groups and/or interns preferred.

· Ability to apply positive engagement, motivational, and leadership skills in a culturally appropriate manner, working with women and their children from diverse and multiply challenged backgrounds.

· Verbal and written communication skills, including detail-minded record-keeping and excellent computer skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with good personal boundaries and appropriate use of authority.

· Ability to hear and process critical feedback, as well as, provide it to others.

· Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.

· Flexibility, creativity, positive attitude, and good humor.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

· If offered position, must pass required TB screening, criminal background check, and have a driver’s license and vehicle.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Deep understanding of and passion for behavioral health and women’s services

· Compassion for the clients that The Aspen Miracle Center serves and a connection to the mission

· Proof of automobile insurance and clean background check required

· Some travel (within Denver Metro)

· Evening and weekend work required

· This position will start with a required 90-day probationary period

· Knowledge of agency policies and procedures and ability to enforce them

· Excellent rapport with the client population

· Demonstrated ability to constructively work with persons in crisis situations

· Demonstrated leadership skills

· Will become Qualified Medication Administration trained

· Will become First Aid and CPR certified

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN COMPENSATION:

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.

MHBHC is part of the Colorado Job Corp loan forgiveness program for Bachelor’s degree and higher.

MHBHC supports ongoing education and training and will pay for continued education for CAT/CAS/LAC.
