This position is union represented. The employee will be signed up with Local 354 (Metal Trades) union by Tomko and offered benefits according to the specific CBA.
Position Summary:
The Shop Laborer position performs minor routine Shop maintenance and assists mechanics as required in order to complete various projects.

Essential Functions:
- Picks up and make deliveries
- Keep work area safe clean and all times
- Supported technicians in equipment maintenance
- Performed routine preventive maintenance
- Communicates effectively future problems and repairs that might need to be addressed
- Enforces and abides by all policies and procedures
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform essential functions outlined above.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Ability to enforce and abide by all Tomko rules and procedures.
Work Environment:
This position works in a typical heavy construction job site environment. The atmosphere includes: exposure to environmental elements and unusual elements such as: extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Associate is required to wear clothing to protect him/her from any uncontrolled conditions.
Physical Effort:
Moderate to heavy physical effort requires handling of mid- to heavy weighted objects less than 75 lbs. Standing and walking is a key requirement in this position.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30pm. 4 – 10-hour days. Or, it may be revised to 5 / 8-hour days.
Evening and weekend overtime hours may be required as job duties demand.
