Job Summary:
W.A. Petrakis Contracting is seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator (“Screw Guy”). This position plays a critical role in achieving proper asphalt distribution, depth, smoothness, and overall pavement quality on a variety of job sites in the greater Pittsburgh Area. W.A. Petrakis Contracting LLC is a drug free workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate screed for even asphalt distribution
- Adjust screed electronics with paver operator
- Set depth, grade, and slope per specifications
- Follow prep work, grades, and drainage plans
- Adhere to all safety protocols
- Perform general labor duties for paving crew as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of asphalt screed operation experience
- Knowledge of paving techniques, compaction, and safety best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Must pass drug screening and background check
- Skilled with attention to detail and high-quality asphalt mat and finish.
- Pre-employment Drug Screening and Background Check required.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 ; OSHA 30
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
