Overview
Provide help with day to day operations in supporting small events, large events, and conferences throughout campus. Student staff members wear many hats and will gain experience in event management, hospitality, scheduling and customer service.
Job Description
This position will report to the Conferences & Events Coordinator. These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Onsite event support for conferences, and events on campus.
- Onsite event support for the athletic camps, clinics, and competitions on campus.
- Assist in the physical setup of events on campus. This involves moving tables, and chairs on and off a truck, then setting up in designated space.
- Assist with the hospitality and linen distribution for
- Inventory of linen and supplies.
- Creation of signage for each group.
- Comply with updated University COVID-19 Protocols and Policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Vermont State University Castleton Student in good standing.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. consistently, which requires lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, climbing, bending, and twisting.
- Valid driver's license.
- Work study eligible.
- Experience with catering events, but not required.

- Working knowledge of office systems including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Publisher and Canva.

- Able and willing to work in a fast pace and sometimes physically demanding position.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, when necessary, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
