Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Job description:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and company policies for multiple companies.

Key Responsibilities

· Handle day-to-day accounting including accounts payable, and accounts receivable. An understanding of job cost accounting is a plus.

· Financial Reporting & Closing: Coordinate and manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial statements.

· Account Reconciliation: Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and sub-ledgers to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

· Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and maintain internal controls; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.

· Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and schedules.

· Cash Flow & Disbursements: Monitor bank balances and approve cash disbursements, including checks and wire transfers.

· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and enhance the efficiency of financial procedures.

· Payroll Experience: Handle bi-weekly payroll, including all federal and state tax reporting, both monthly and yearly.

Required Qualifications

· Education: Minimum Associate's degree, preferably a Bachelor’s degree, in Accounting

· Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Sage accounting, Word, and Adobe.

· Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
