Overview
VPG is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Regional Property Manager to oversee the operations and performance of multiple residential properties across the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in multi-site property management, with specific experience in LIHTC compliance, resident relations, team leadership, and operational excellence. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a customer-centric mindset, and the ability to manage multiple properties, teams, and priorities efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of assigned residential properties, ensuring they are well-maintained and performing to company standards.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Property Managers, Leasing teams, and Maintenance Technicians across the portfolio.
- Ensure full compliance with LIHTC regulations, Fair Housing, and all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Support leasing efforts by monitoring occupancy, reviewing marketing strategies, and assisting with complex resident or applicant situations.
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate curb appeal, unit readiness, file compliance, resident experience, and operational consistency.
- Use property management software (Yardi) to track leases, financials, inspections, work orders, and compliance data efficiently.
- Manage portfolio-level budgets, monitor expenses, analyze monthly financial reports, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Review and audit resident files, certifications, recertifications, and compliance documentation to ensure LIHTC accuracy and readiness for audits.
- Address escalated resident concerns professionally, ensuring timely resolutions that support retention and satisfaction.
- Ensure the company policies and procedures are being followed for maintenance technicians and make readies.
- Understand the industry standards, how the company compares, and works with the Property Managers to develop strategies to maintain quality and efficiency to improve metrics.
- Develop and implement resident service and customer care strategies that strengthen community satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain accurate portfolio records, financial documentation, compliance reports, and operational logs.
Skills
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing on-site property teams.
- Proficient in using property management software such as Yardi, Buildium, AppFolio, or similar systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, staff, and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of LIHTC regulations, compliance processes, and audit preparation.
- Knowledge of relevant laws governing residential property management, including Fair Housing and landlord-tenant regulations.
- Experience in facilities management and maintenance coordination to ensure safe and functional communities.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail in managing contracts, reports, and compliance documents.
- Understanding of leasing processes, marketing strategies, and occupancy optimization.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
