von Briesen & Roper, s.c. is seeking a Paralegal to join our team in our Waukesha office. This position supports our Worker’s Compensation team within our Labor & Employment section.
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Reading and reviewing medical records
- Drafting correspondence and pleadings
- Investigating case facts, conducting research, on relevant laws, regulations and legal articles
- Gathering and arranging evidence for attorney review and case preparation
- Maintaining and organizing reference files
- Filing exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court
- Maintaining attorney calendars
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a Paralegal Certification. Prior experience in Worker’s Compensation, Medical Malpractice or Civil Litigation is preferred. Additional qualifications include; exceptional client service skills, multitasking, attention to detail and organization skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems and experience with legal software preferred.
