A passionate and mission driven professional, who believes strongly in the power of philanthropy to change peoples’ lives and strengthen communities through the generosity of philanthropic partners. The role will build and grow diverse, sophisticated, high-net-worth relationships with individuals, corporations, and private foundations locally and nationally. The role is responsible for developing a comprehensive and strategic philanthropic development plan to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts and planned giving. The role will develop donor engagement strategies leading efforts to sustainable philanthropic partnerships and charitable revenue. The role partners with the President/CEO and the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities and Functions:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a strategic philanthropic plan and budget to meet annual and long-term growth and revenue goals.
- Develop major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship engagement strategies.
- Implement comprehensive, creative, and proactive relationship strategies to solicit and secure new funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Special events and direct mail (annual appeal).
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Strategic communications plan development and implementation to achieve stated outcomes.
- Mission-centric and passionate individual with knowledge of affordable housing, behavioral health, homelessness, the aging, the disabled and veterans’ programs.

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Three to five years’ minimum experience in the field of philanthropy.
- Documented track record developing individual, corporate, foundation relationships. Major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Track record of proven experience managing urban and rural community relationships and fundraising campaigns.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 productivity tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Competence in donor management systems (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT).
- CFM, CFRE, ACFRE or similar certification a plus.
- Manage and track fundraising campaigns with accurate written reporting.
- Manage and ensure accurate donor records.
- Ability to travel independently and with a team.
- Acceptable Criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license in jurisdiction of residence.
- Vehicle liability coverage.
