The Business Development Director/Manager serves as a strategic growth leader and is responsible for expanding federal market opportunities, shaping business strategy, and strengthening the companys competitive positioning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in business administration, contract management, or a closely related field.
- The ability to provide federal contracting expertise with entrepreneurial thinking and leadership presence that will play a pivotal cultural role, helping shape the companys collaborative environment, supporting operational excellence, and driving sustainable growth.
- A proven capability to drive the full business development lifecyclefrom pipeline creation and capture management to proposal development and award transitionwhile upholding the values, culture, and mission of the company.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of GSA schedules, 8(a) STARS, HUBZone pathways, IDIQ/GWAC vehicles, BPA task orders, and federal procurement processes.
- Support both direct awards and competitive procurements, ensuring compliance with FAR requirements and agency-specific acquisition guidelines.
- The ability to pivot from an operations and proposal role and transition into program management for client continuity.
- Ensure accurate scoping, compliant submissions, and effective transition planning from opportunity to contract execution.
- Skilled in developing creative win-themes, differentiators, and progressive, state-of-the-art solutions that resonate with federal clients and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Provide responsible leadership, innovative thinking, and creative problem-solving, consistently making comprehensive business decisions grounded in risk awareness and operational integrity.
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, build trust across departments, and engage effectively with employees and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- The capability to serve as a cultural ambassador supports a high-trust, collaborative, and mission-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification (is a plus).
- Experience working with tribal, 8(a), or disadvantaged small businesses.
- Familiarity with establishing scalable operational infrastructure in a high-growth environment.
